Family Letter April 27, 2020

 Dear St. Patrick Families,

Yesterday’s announcement from the Honourable Minister Lecce to extend the closure of schools until at least May 29, 2020 was not unexpected.

The Board has made decisions including the following items:

  • The province remains in a State of Emergency and under the direction of the Ministries of Health and Education, we are adhering to the physical distancing protocol and therefore the Board has made the decision to postpone the Grade 8 graduation ceremony until the fall.
  •  Awards will proceed as planned. All recipients will be notified by their schools and all monetary entitlements will be disbursed by June 30, 2020. Students will be recognized and receive the physical awards at the fall ceremony.
  •  More information about our Grade 8 graduation event will be provided to you as soon as the details are available.
  •  All upcoming food orders, excursions, and year-end trips are cancelled. We are working on the refund process. More information including, when families can expect to see the reimbursements, will be shared by us soon.
  •  Fundraising that has or is currently taking place will halt. More information pertaining to what will happen with the collected funds and how collections that still remain with our families will be handled, will be shared soon.
  •  Students who remain behind on their scheduled immunizations will be contacted by public health at a time when catch-up clinics and/or processes are in place.
  •  A formal Message to Families from the district outlining these decisions will be released shortly.

Our staff remain dedicated to supporting our families. Please reach out if you require more information or additional supports.

Sincerely,

Lucas Boluk

Principal
