Epic Jobs Event - In partnership with BHNCDSB

Innovation, technology, artistry, excitement…who knew that these are the benefits of working in the skilled trades?

On May 17, 2017, students attending EPIC JOBS will learn from industry leaders, women in the trades and local businesses how skilled trades contribute to designing and making new products and services.

“We want our students to learn about all of the cool, skilled trade jobs available within our community”, said Jill Halyk, executive director of the Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie. “By providing our children with the opportunity to learn from local businesses and from leaders in the field, students will be able to make better choices about courses and career paths.”

In addition to participating in interactive exhibits, students will learn from four well-known experts in the field - Jeremy Bout of Edge Factor, Emily Chung of Auto Niche, Jaymie McMillan of Kick Ass Careers, and Cory Vitiello, a Brantford-born award-winning chef & star of Food Network’s Chef in Your Ear.

Members of the business community and public are invited to attend EPIC JOBS between 2:30 and 4:00 to experience a sample of what the students learned during the day.
